S.A.Lab Black Knight Reference amplifying set consisting of preamplifier and 400 W monolocks has been realized totally on germanium solid state devices. Black Knight Reference is really unique for contemporary High End and Top End scene and for history of home audio in general. It is truly Sovereign of the Music. In the present time none of the home audio companies produce amplifiers on sonically phenomenal germanium devices as well as such the huge output power is unprecedented. S.A.Lab Black Knight Reference has truly unlimited sound capabilities, delivers full scale dynamics, extraordinary natural sound extent and all the tonal palette of live music.

Black Knight Reference's concept and ideas were derived from our staggering also germanium 150 W Black Knight Integrated.

Two years have been required to develop Black Knight Reference amplifiers. In the scope of the time Alexey Syomin was composing and balancing schematics, painstakingly working on germanium devices thermo and current stabilization, defining power supply structure and components' general design.

Precise sensors control germanium devices' heating and current and the other sensors detect the temperature of large heat sinks (visible digital indications are provided) and conduct noiseless coolers for amplifier, power supply and driver stages.

S.A.Lab developed wholly reliable and convenient protection block with fuses and LED indicators.

There is the bank of capacitors of 80 000 mF in monoblock's power supply. Rectifiers are realized on germanium diodes with individual heat sinks for each one. S.A.Lab designed and produced special highest quality film capacitors of 470 mF to shunt the power after rectifiers.

Preamplifier contains germanium devices too. There are input and output balanced transformers in it. Mr. Syomin foresaw separated buffers for each preamplifier's output. High precision volume control is built using tantalum resistors. Preamplifier has 5 line inputs (3 unbalanced RCA and 2 balanced XLR), 3 outputs (unbalanced and 2 balanced) and operating time counter.

Tough and strong amplifiers' chassis were made of thick steel plates and polished artificial stone (change of many colours from Ferrari automotive line). We decorate luxury monoblocks' front plates and bases with high quality stitched leather.
